Not Church....... Messy Church

A whole new way of exploring God across the ages. This provides two hours of interacting with your children in a fun, positive way whilst getting to know other families, as together we explore the meaning of life.

Messy Church is held at Gordon Uniting on the first Saturday of each month with the exception of January. The program starts at 4.30pm and finishes with a communal meal at 6.30pm.

It also operates on the 1st Sunday of the month during school term, from 5:00 – 6:45pm at Pymble Uniting. It typically involves:

Craft and activities around a theme for 45 – 60 minutes.
An interactive worship service for 15-20 minutes.
A scrumptious meal together.

Messy Church is not just for children but seeks to engage the whole family in the Christian story.

Families report that they appreciate the informality, the fresh approach and that the young ones go home fed and ready for bed!

Be assured of a fun, welcoming time.

Some quotes from Messy Church parents
"You don't have to be religious to come, we're not"
"You're not preached at, but the godly theme is there, it's underlying"
"Messy Church shakes off the image of what people think church is like"

Message from Justin Welby Archbishop of Canterbury at the first International Messy Church Conference in May 2016

"We need to be a church where everyone feels they are part of it and everyone comes in and can discover God and discover who Jesus is. This is not church for children, it's church for church; It's church for everyone.

And that's why I want to encourage you to go on pushing out the boundaries being flexible, being imaginative, being in a circle of love that joins people with Christ at the centre.

You are a gift to the Church. You've set churches and parishes across (England) the world, off on journeys that they never imagined they could make in a million years."
